Teen Nabbed With Assault Rifle, 20 Pounds Of Pot, Police Say

A Fairfield County teen was arrested after he allegedly fired several gunshots on Halloween and for possessing 20 pounds of marijuana.

Tyrese Pridgen, 19, of Bridgeport, was arrested on a warrant by officers from the Stratford Police Department along with members of the Bridgeport Police Department, said  Stratford Police Capt. Frank Eannotti.

Following an investigation, Pridgen was identified as the person responsible for several gunshots in the area of Sands Place in Stratford on the night of Oct. 31, said Eannotti.

There were no injuries during the shots fired incident.

During the arrest, officers seized an SKS assault rifle with ammunition and approximately 20 pounds of pot, he added.

Pridgen was charged with:

  • Reckless Endangerment
  • Weapon In A Motor Vehicle
  • Possession Of An Assault Weapon
  • Possession Of A High Capacity Magazine
  • Possession Of Narcotics With Intent To Sell

He was held on a $150,000 bond and assigned a court date of Friday, Nov. 20.
